Hughes has a lot to prove this season, and the Yankees are desperate for a victory. Hellickson was the AL’s rookie of the year last season, but the Yankees were one of the few teams to have success against him, as Hellickson was 1-1 with a 4.07 ERA against New York. Today’s starters previously met last August as Hughes when six, allowing just two runs on four hits and struck out six. Hellickson could not get out of the fifth in a 9-2 New York rout
